Cloud and Network Services / Enterprise Campus Edge is expanding his R&D team dedicated to Positioning Systems, moving from a single-technology, self-contained solution to become a positioning platform with multiple localization technologies integrated. The team will work on exciting cutting-edge projects in Enterprise Digital Automation, Data Analytics, Cloud and IoT. For our Real Time Assets Tracking Solution we are looking for a Researcher in the field of Positioning Systems.

Candidates will work for one of the building blocks of the Nokia strategy, the Nokia Digital Automation Cloud platform, which provides both private LTE/5G networks for industrial customers and state of the art Digital Services on top: the service you will be working for is the Mission Critical Context Positioning solution. In a team of software developers, you will be one of a kind: the position is dedicated to candidates with a high level of mathematical skills and a knowledge of radio propagation. You are also required to have a fair knowledge of the fundamentals of sw design and architecture, with the ability to pick up and learn any stack.

As part of our team, your contribution will focus on evolving and adapting the currently used algorithms for assets positioning across different technologies.

The ideal candidate must be fluent in most of the following subjects:

For range, angle and position estimation & tracking:

• radio propagation understanding
• digital signal processing (Fourier analysis / spectral estimation, array signal processing)
• geometric positioning techniques (ToA, AoA and their combination)
• estimation / detection theory (sensor fusion, target tracking - Bayesian filters, particularly the different variants of Kalman filters, other type of filters like particle filters, etc.)
• mathematics (linear algebra, optimization, computational complexity analysis)

Coding Skills:

• Algorithmic thinking
• Python as minimum, ideally C++ for the productized version of the code
• Testing (unit and functional tests)
• Version control (Git)
• Documentation

The following is a list of optional requirements, that if present, will be highly appreciated:

• SW development expertise in GO
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes, Linux and networking preferred
• Knowledge in RESTful architectures, JSON, OAuth
• SQL knowledge
• Exposure to cloud, virtualization & SaaS concepts, Kubernetes, Docker
• Scaling, caching, and microservices
• Unit testing, possibly functional testing
